A Fine Spring Evening

Point RustonNot only have I not posted in awhile, I haven’t had time to get the camera out either and it was starting to make me antsy. So yesterday evening, I grabbed the camera and drove down the hill to take a few shots of Mount Rainier and the sunset from Ruston Way here in Tacoma. These shots were taken from a spot about a mile from my house. I still want to get out for a full day with camera in hand, but for a short while, the hour I spent last night scratched my photography itch. Do you have a special, go-to spot when you just have to get out there an click a shutter button for awhile?

    Fantastic veiw with the snowy mountain, I can see why you like to go there. And yes I have a couple of special photo-spots when I just have to take a picture.

      Nisqually is a great spot. I have been down to it a couple times, I really should spend a bit more time there.

    Wow, Joe … what beautiful images you’ve created! Thank you for this stunning reminder that even an hour of shooting is better than not shooting at all. Though it’s nowhere nearly as scenic as yours, you’ve inspired me to revisit my own go-to spot!

    Hi Joe. I’m new around here. Your pictures are really stunning. I’m looking to take up casual photography as a hobby (and maybe videography at a later stage). It’s something I’ve always wanted to learn because I love the idea of capturing moments in time that inspire you so you can have them forever. There are so many cameras in the market, so many specifications and functions that I don’t understand, it’s all very confusing. Do you know of any blogs that explain it all out (in non techie baby words)? Also feel free to suggest cameras that won’t render me broke. Thanks so much!
    Ps. Never stop clicking. Photography is an art and a talent you definitely possess. You don’t need scenic spots for it either. I think it’s more about seeing things that other people may not and capturing them. Telling a story the way you see it. (I think. You probably know better.) Cheers!
